Time can change your perception and view of life.

Looking back at my other posts can sometimes make me wonder who wrote them.

Today is a day of bombs.

I found out that my boss is leaving.

I found out that my colleague wants to hook me up with a guy from another school. She took the step to even check out if his character was good (based on feedback from various fellow colleagues at that school) and his interests match my interests. She wanted us to meet this weekend but I am completely booked. I don't know what to think he looks nice from the photos...

I found out he yes he the guy I have kept inside my heart for freaking 5 years (perhaps more) kind of stopped counting the years. He is attached I saw a photo of him and the girlfriend. It makes me feel pretty much numb. I wish him well.

It was a foolish kind of feeling I had for him anyway. Don't know why I even kept thinking about him everyday for the past five years. Don't know why I never gave others a chance because all I could see was him. His face, his smile and his eyes.

I must be crazy. The picture of him and the girlfriend should cut me like a knife but luckily I have trained myself to accept that day when it happens. I accepted it today pretty well.

I will let time take control, let God decide lead my way and see what magic unfolds.

stupid things

Seriously I have been thinking about leaving city life and just living in a farm with cows, sheep and goats and a gorgeous farmer and rear animals and children watch them grow up leave, get married and basically complete the circle of life.

That is bliss to me.

There is absolutely no way I can do it here so my other option is to obviously go some other place and find said gorgeous farmer and marry him and live there forever.

What is wrong with city life? What is wrong with climbing corporate ladders or watching others get ahead of you and feel worthless? Dog eat dog life appealing for you? Feed obsession of big brands and big bucks and high rolling life slogging it out to attain that goal all your life?

No thank you give me my farm any time. Yes, there will be moments when I enjoy watching movies, shopping and hanging out at starbucks all very city girl things but it would all be possible in this farm I have in mind location is very important to me. I can track down the location and find an occupation than stay in a nice proper rental before purchasing own property.

Even if the gorgeous farmer never materializes I don't care I can still live my life out in the country when I get bored I can just drive out and enjoy some urban excitement.

What about friends and family?

I don't have any siblings and my father is up in heaven. There is only my mom who I will provide for and take care of as long as there is breath in my lungs. My plan to go country would only come into fruition when I am perhaps in my 30s or 40s realistically speaking provided I am not married by than.

If I am already married by than obviously moving and shifting so dramatically would not be so highly possible. But I am a woman who gets ideas quite suddenly and sometimes scarily to go country can still be possible even if I am married we could find some place in Malaysia perhaps and make it like a vacation getaway. That would be my piece of heaven right there.

I think I sense a theme here family and country life.

Haha it is possible you know I have a habit of making my wishes come into reality.

I am flattened by flattery

I want to date someone who will take care of me and not just the other way around. I do not want someone who just wants to impress based on looks alone. Such insubstantial basis for admiration I am not a fool to fall for blind praise. I want stimulating coversation. It is not too much to ask for? I find guys that I can admire based on their merits be it interpersonal skills or thoughtfullness for others, strength of character and ability to be humorous. All these traits are far more appealing than just plain flattery and appearances. I know what I want and I shall get it.

Square Table

Sometimes I wonder if there are negative energy trapped inside inanimate objects that affect real life occurances. For example a square table has corners which can disrupt flow of communication this affects the pple sitting at the table whereas round tables may not have this problem as well, it is round...I suppose I am going on with my funny logic again. But it is just that I experienced it today sitting at an old table that is square and having miscommunications happening to all 4 of us. It made me wonder...

Inside my head for a while

I like to feel comfortable but at the same time I like to be challenged.

It is very strange I admit but I have moods where I just like to be with people who are predictable and stable and I know exactly what to say to them. They will never say anything that would surprise me as they retain neutral ground and hardly ever say any thing controversial.

I can say as many controversial stuff as I like and they would still retain neutral ground or I could just go along with the flow of their conversation and than it is simple.

But I will also be bored at times as I like to talk to people that show me a new way of looking at things and make me feel like I am expanding my universe. My craving for this must come from my long nightly conversations with my father when he was still alive. After he died I have never gotten this back.

I have just discovered this as I type that my key consideration for a future partner would be that he must be able to expose certain things about life to me which I have not seen before, he must be able to challenge me... Most men my age cannot seem to do this. I have a feeling I may marry an older man by maybe 3 - 5 years or so. Perhaps I am thinking too far ahead.

I digress anyway I have another group of friends that crave controversy and complex concepts.

Thus I orbit between the two. To get my fix of controversy and stability.

A comet hit today and threw me off.

This comet is someone who just shatters my universe which was relatively quite tranquil.

And jumbled everything up and makes it look all wrong.

Firstly I do not like people who criticize the way you live when they are no better. I do not like being interrogated and asked repeatedly the same thing after closing off the topic in a rather straight forward manner.

Like the comet commented my distance from place of work and home was rather far. Than asked me if I found it far. Than I said that I have no problems with the distance from my house to the work place.

Topic closed.

Comet forces it open: Everyone complains their work place is far. You have to take a bus to your work place and walk right? How long does it take?

Me: It takes 15 mins to walk from the MRT and I do not need to take a bus.

Comet: Are you sure it is 15 mins? It is further than that.

*proceeds to calculate the time from my house to the MRT*

Comet (triumphantly): It takes 30 mins correct. So it is far.

Me: Yes it is 30 mins but you may think it is far but it is not far to me.

Comet: You take the MRT than you walk there. What route do you take to walk there?

Me: Why you so interested to know how to go to my workplace. You want to visit me at my workplace is it?

Comet: No I don't want to visit your work place.

Me: Than why do you ask me how far is my work place from my house and how to walk there?

Comet: I know how to go to your workplace. Just that your workplace distance is far.

You know how to go to my school than must ask me so many questions for what?

She is like insisting I agree that my work place is far based on her judgment of distance. She does not even work where I am working and she does not even stay when I am staying.

There was also another matter which irritated me as well.

Comet: I find teachers are not doing what the textbooks say they should.

Me: Sometimes we should not follow just what textbooks say but think outside the box instead of being so rigid. We have to be flexible.

Comet: We should follow textbooks. Teachers are right to follow textbooks.

Me: But you just said that you found that teachers are not doing what the textbooks say they should?

Comet: Yes but we should not be complacent.

It is like wanting to start saying something controversial and than chickening away from it when I challenge you to take it a bit further.

I was hinting to this Comet that being so rigid and forcing others to fit your mold is not the only way to go thus saying one should also think outside the box. But apparently hint not taken.

Anyway I guess this post shall show you what exactly goes on in my head when I am making conversations with peoples and my reasons for choosing a certain group of people to be with (when choice is possible)

I am selfish, you are selfish

Treat others the way you want others to treat you.

Such a simple concept. I wonder some people cannot seem to even grasp this.

psssh.

And another thing I realized that we are all selfish. No point in saying I am a saint therefore I am not selfish and yadda yadda...

Let me ask you, if you were stranded on a desert island with no food and no water. You are stranded with another human being doesn't matter whether you know him or not. There is no way you can get off this island because it is cursed and no one ever gets off it.

What will happen in the end?

One of you is going to die. How? Humans instinctively can only rely on survival. Their own survival when the body is deprived of food and water for long periods of time death is inevitable to prevent oneself from dying first you secure water source. However you have not found anything to eat. There is only one other human being with you.

One will have to come to a decision and thus cannibalism will occur.

You do not believe me that this will happen? Human's most selfish and disgusting behavior will start to show when they are pushed beyond normal circumstances. Have you heard of the starving man who ate his own child and probably hated himself forever after that?

In less drastic and more normal circumstances:

What separates us is the degree of selfishness we are capable of expressing on a daily basis. But the basic fact is still relevant. We are all selfish.

I have been busy lately but happy.

There are some photos I should upload and maybe videos I might wanna share but I am just too tired and my mind is on other things. I just thought I should update since my previous update was so long ago.

I am now currently studying at NIE for my teacher's training program (assisting role) and just generally enjoying life as a student again.

I miss the feel of doing homework assignments as perverse as that may sound it's true. I also realize how hard it is for my pupils to pay attention for long periods of time with so much pressure over their heads.

It is not easy. Going through these should make me more empathetic and less judgmental of people.

I am most appalled.

Why men can be so hard to fathom.

I mean if I had to carry on like this I would rather die a spinster than marry a poor sod who cannot tell his left and right feet apart.

Seriously, I mean it is so bizarre to me that I could meet someone like this who would pick on and bully a friend of mine and I had to defend her because I felt just so indignant and appalled.

The thing that strikes me is that this someone could be 8 years my senior or more.

How could you tell someone to not work anymore but stay at home all their life cleaning house?

Just because one has a child and a husband does not mean they have to stay at home and be a dependent all their lives. To insist on this point is just so unfair.

And I am all the more upset because I considered the person who said all these to be someone I could relate to and enjoy his company.

I still do enjoy and relate to him on many levels I just got very angry that he should keep picking on my friend and say all these horrid things to her.

On a completely different note I bought two new dresses today and ironed all my clothes.

I am quite happy and productive.

Did I start off complaining in this post?

Well, I am a woman what do you expect? We change our moods so rapidly even the seasons just cannot keep up.

Introspection

Over the times I have worked with children. I have realized that I am watching who and what I was when I was that age. It is like having someone put a mirror in front of you and point to a spot on your body you have not looked at in a long time or you have never really noticed before.

From my perspective (adult) I think they are wasting their time trading football cards and chasing boys both literally and figuratively. I think they are stupid to not take the opportunity to make something of themselves with the resources at hand. Billions of money pouring into Education sector all going to waste on these kids who are simply not interested in studying at all.

There are of course model students who sit in class and do not talk during teaching and do as they are told. But I am mainly working with kids who are not model pupils.

Perspective from children's view:
Doing well means feeling "smart" and "clever". Doing badly meant you are just a failure. When you are a child it only boils down to two simple facts:

If you are not pretty at least be clever .
If you are pretty you would have more attention and you would be popular.

On some occasions there are smart and pretty girls but these are like one in a million. Such girls are usually the most sort after and everyone wants to be like them.

I digress I find that on one hand I have to understand the kid's point of view and on the other hand remember that I am an educator and thus I have to force them to see it from my perspective too. If they do not understand I have to make them understand. Most of the time it is like having visitors from different planets speaking together. It is expected that nobody will really understand one another. C'est la vie

Career paths

My mind has been on careers recently. I have a variety of peoples I come into contact daily and inevitably when we seldom meet people will ask you what you do and how is your work?

Now that I have a job it comes easy and they have something to fill in their heads under the folder labeled: Occupations

Everyone has freaking labels in their heads that goes something like this. You meet Patricia from God's know where and you cannot remember who she is and what she does so you look in your folders of people you have not seen for the past 5 years.

You find Patricia's information.

She is your ex-class mate from secondary school. Of course. She was a straight A student and went on to pursue A levels after that.

So you labeled as smart. You find out she is dating for the past 2 years so you label her as potentially going to be married.

So you ask her what she is currently doing?

And she says: dadadada

Just like that you have something to put under occupations and to you Patricia will always be that proper young woman who will do precisely what she is suppose to do with her degree and in a related field of work that has to do with this degree.

She is not going to turn into a freak and decide to pack her bags and go to Las Vegas to be a Show Girl. No not Patricia.

Why am I telling you this?

The point is we judge people all the time based on their decisions and life choices particularly when it is careers. If you do not do something in relation to what you studied people will ask. Not just your bosses but people, everyone. They will ask.

I am not Patricia. I am not going to go to Las Vegas and be a Show Girl either.

I am working in a Primary School being a role model to young kids. I take my job seriously and you may have a hard time wrapping your mind around the idea of ME being anyone's role model but I take my job seriously.

Do I want to be in Education forever? Yes.

I want to learn and teach.

Do I want to become a teacher? No.

Are you confused?

I hope so.

Let me explain. To be a teacher you do not just teach you dance, you choreograph, you perform, you have meetings all the time, you plan events, you have auditing to do, you are ranked, you are given a quota of passing grades to fulfill...

Every move you make in this career is put under a microscope because you are working for the Government. The pressure can become immense I salute all my teachers who have worked in this line for so long. They are noble, work hard and sacrifice so much of their own time away from their family to help other children succeed.

Am I able to do all this? No.

So I choose to strictly assist. I am tightfisted with my time and I will do the work set aside for me but to sacrifice all of my time for my work. I cannot do this. And I have not had to do this. Yet.

I love working with children but I may want to check out other options where I can strictly focus on working with kids. Like 80% of the time instead of 40%.

I have also got my "lets go to Las Vegas and be a Show Girl" moments where I think of working magic on people's faces, painting pale golden hues on their lids and dusting pixie pink on their cheekbones. I want to go to Paris and speak French to the locals, meet someone in a foreign land who makes me feel like I am the Sugarplum Princess, who can't take his eyes off me. We do not have to be pulled or held down by gravity, we float. We are like nymphs on water, fun frivolous fun? How do I explain it to the "Patricas" of this world? I was on holiday. I met someone. He made me feel special so we went out together to explore Paris.

Where is he now?
I don't know. We just met.

This has always been a tough topic to wrap my head around because I have my own ideas about this and most clear headed and high minded career girls everywhere may scoff at my ideas and think I am like a freaking Martian but I cannot care less.

I have never followed the herd mentality. Just because it is in vogue and expected of girls my age it does not mean I have to do it.

My career path is my own and I do not starve so if I accept your decision to climb the corporate ladder in your stilettos, through gritted teeth and at the expense of your sanity, you respect my decision to carve out my own career path. I respect yours I won't judge. I promise.

8th August Visit to the Nail Salon

On National Day after bidding farewell to Eunice and wishing all the best for her NEW YORK trip. Lucky gal we will not see her for 6 months am sure she is going to have a huge blast in NY.

Lisa, Abi and myself went to get our nails done. It will be my first time and I was so excited because I had read about the process of doing the nails but I had no expertise to really do a salon-style job with filing and clipping of cuticles and all that so with that bit of hard cash I was able to pamper myself it was really fun :)

I chose OPI pink shade in Diva for both toes and fingers. I don't like to use different colors for both I like to keep it consistent.

So I am going to bring you on my first time to a nail salon to do my nails :) Enjoy the photos :)

Meet a stranger

Today I had a rather interesting experience.

I read an article on meeting strangers today via sarahwilson.com

A topic I know a thing or two about working in customer service before.

And today I met a stranger who tried to ~~force on~~ sell me insurance.

He asked me like what was I doing, whether I was working, working as what etc. Being straight forward I asked him: "what are you selling?"

"Nevermind about that what are you doing?"

"Shopping."

"Are you working?"

"What are you selling?"

"Nevermind about that what are you working as?"

Sounds super annoying right but the dude was quite good looking so I let him carry on and entertain me. Am I bad? No I told him that even if he tell me so many things I may not buy from him anything. So I was upfront about it but he continued on with his "sales" pitch.

His "sales" pitch included number crunching and flirting overtly.

I realized I do not like it when guys who I have no intention of flirting with flirt with me especially after I took a bus ride after work. Romantic no? If there was anything between us our "love story would go like this: We met after I took the bus from work and he stopped me to sell me insurance. It was true love.

I mean if I am in a club and had a few drinks I would be cool with a dude hitting on me. I mean it is expected being in a club and all. But some dude selling me insurance is another story. I mean he is obviously flirting because he wants you to buy insurance for all you know he could really think you are an ugly chick and someone he would never date. So it is really insincere.

He kept throwing in things like destiny, fate, marriage, dating and to give me this mood but it froze me solid. I played bimbo with hearing problems. I mean I do not like it when people keep pushing things at me when I am obviously not interested but am just doing polite listening.

I started to want to blow my nose and he stared at me. I HATE it when people do that I mean why can't you be tactful and like do something else? Why do you have to stare especially when I already excused myself and told you what I was going to do? Than he actually said: "You are so cute."

I ignored him and he was like: "Hey did you hear what I just said?"

Maybe it is his "style" of selling, maybe he thought being Casanova would make me want to buy the insurance from him. He did not realize that I only did not walk away from him because I was being entertained. Than I got bored. Problem was he had cornered me to show me stuff from his laptop at Starbucks. So I was trapped.

Than he told me a story about marriage and dating which was real deep.

A boy and a teacher who is coincidentally my name. The boy wants to know about dating so the teacher "Grace" ask him to go get some corn and he does not get it because he wanted to get the best and in the end was too afraid to take the corn that was the best.

Than he wants to know about marriage than he is told by the teacher to go get a tree and he goes and picks one and than teacher is like why so fast and the boy says that he found the tree he wants and does not need to search all over because his choice is for life. Hence marriage is for life also.

I was actually quite interested when he told me he wanted to tell me the story but mid-way I was kind of like deflated balloon.

I believe everything happens for a reason maybe I was meant to learn something from him or he from me. Whatever it is I am not very sure but it makes for a rather interesting meet a stranger experience.

We walk walk and walk to find some stuffs Kenneth needed for his work. I have not walked around this area in long time. It was really nice and pleasant. The pavements had been newly cemented giving it a really nice touristy feel. Okay I am not a tourist but I can appreciate government efforts.

4th July Hard Rock Cafe Post

I am confined at home because of a bloody foot. LONGGG STORRRYYYY.

Kelly K was really nice to bring me over to Central, Clarke Quay for a b'day meal of Japanese Food. It was a nice meal and than we had some ice cream and chilled out at the side of the Singapore River.

China Tour 2010 PART ONE

So sorry for lack of updates I have been overseas in China here are a whole bunch of photos I want to share with you.

So come with me! I take you from Singapore Airport to a hotel next to a military base (the military need some recreational activity too ahem), a super extravagant huge temple (its China what do you expect?), a 900 year old school (don't quote me but its a really old school), the largest bowl of soup in the world (again don't quote me but its the grandmother of all soup bowls) and...and...and... Okay enough already just scroll down and open your eyes big coz there are many many photos (I took like 1000+++) so stay tune for a huge bumper series of travel photo blog post! I have chosen my favorites of the bunch. ENJOY!

Waiting for the flight people to open the gate. I am wearing a black dress over black leggings and a leather jacket. Pretty minimal make up I will be doing a short video on my travel essentials :)

Our gate was B2 but I was nearer to B3 so I just took the shot anyway :)

After that I went on board the aeroplane and took lots of time off to watch movies like the Lightning Thief which turned out to be okay and I was glad I did not fork out the money to watch the movie as it was okay but not LOTR fantastic.

In Shanghai, China! So many Chinese words on the sign boards!

We take a super fast speed train.

I was standing near the door way of the train when it started to run again and by the time my mom took the photo the doorway was beyond the frame!

Up next we headed for the hotel which took a super long journey by bus and I was really tired by the time we got there it was night time so the next day bright and early I took photos of the hotel.

It is next to a military base! On the left. Its a communist military base as you can see there is a red star on the front. The hotel is also called red star.

Our next place to sight see was a park with a beautiful love story. It involves a General and his wife, Xi Shi. Xi Shi is one of the four classical beauties of China. You can read more about her here.

Our tour of the Lihu Lake Park after that we head to a tea pottery place which did not allow any photo taking boo and than on to a temple, the grandest I have ever seen!

Some real high building which played a part in Communist history which I have not much interest in honestly. But the view from the top is great!

Lots of similar looking houses. Supposedly built for the people to stay for free. I was told this I was too busy snapping photos to listen to everything the tour guide was saying. My bad.

Day!

Nanjing Bridge! Built by many many many China men painstakingly. They had no modern technologies and spent hours in the water building the foundations of the bridge through the heat of summer and the frigid waters of winter. 1000s died to build this bridge. Why? Because the Russians and a whole bunch of other foreigners told them they could not do it. Chinese just love proving people wrong.

War memorial for people who died during the Japanese invasion. Our tour guide did not try to hide her contempt for the Japanese she said that they were perverts. I was to learn soon enough that mainland China ladies are a straight forward bunch.

Outfit of the day! I wore leggings in black and a long flowy tunic dress thing.
My shoes are Converse. Sunglasses are from Cotton On and PG Mall bag is bought online. Black Canon camera bag slung across my other shoulder.

Fast Forward we land on the streets of Tunxi just walking and taking in the sights. I see our King of Fruits can you spot it? Hint: Green and spiky. Smells real strong.

Empty corridor used to house bustling servants moving back and forth to service their masters. I bet they never saw the day when their home would become a tourist attraction.

Look at the intricate detail on the wall! The Chinese word in the green diamond means prosperity.

Those hooks used to house cages where pet birds would sit and sing to their owners. Now a robin sits on the hook sans cage. You can see the bird nest (its that dubious brown thing stuck to the last ceiling post)

Lanterns with cobwebs stuck to them. The upper balcony is where the unwed ladies of the house would use to stay. They would look down onto the street from the balcony and see if there were any hot guys worth making into husbands.

I bought some gel eye liner recently from a random online person and than met and than paid and than left. I wanted to show my friend the gel liner that I bought as I found it good and cheap and when back to the website I am speechless.

Okay if there is a sign that I should seriously consider modeling this is it. This seller is the second person to bring up my height and modeling in the same sentence in one week. The first was a sales lady from Guardian who wanted me to buy a very small bottle of whitening stuff for $25!!!

Anyway I am not joking about the modeling thing. Hmm... First I need a good photographer and than a good portfolio and than an agency and than clients...Hmmm....

Stupid Romanian Diplomat

This is so stupid. Just because he is diplomat does not make him a person of character.

How can just hit and run and kill and injure people who just everyday people not rich and minding their own business. Lie about what car being stolen and than fly of to Romania on the pretext of having health problems.

Upon investigation erm... car being stolen was actually driven by owner of the car. I can imagine the diplomat panicking and than having the brilliant idea of dumping his car and maybe cabbing home or something than he call policeman and say: My car is stolen!

So stupid. But the evidence in the car maybe some shoe dirt from diplomat's shoes end up points to the fact that diplomat was driving the freaking car that he claimed was stolen!!!

wth?

I don't think he is even going to go to jail for what he did because he is a diplomat. I really feel sorry for the poor widow Yenny even if she hired some big time lawyer chances this case would give the lawyer more publicity and money but would not put diplomat in jail.

The world is so screwed up this is one more example to sum it all up.

I have been scolded and insulted at my work place because I am the newest person there thus the least experienced.

But in the first place I have stated clearly that I am there to learn. So I have proved myself time and time again. You scold me for not doing a task properly I do it nice nice for you to see.

I kept at this for 1 month and about 6 days.

Than the scoldings got lesser and thus I thought it was a sign of improvement and better times ahead.

My principal called me to the office to pass me a cheque and also inform me that the teachers have been saying my performance is not good and that I am slow although I have a good attitude.

I need to have more initiative.

I said okay I would work on that and I have been working on it. I was thinking before she even brought this up I have already taken the initiative to rectify any errors I have done.

If the teachers tell me to do something once and show me how to do it I make sure I do it well and they will not need to monitor me so closely anymore.

on 14 Jan a Thursday there was news that a child was down with hand foot mouth disease contracted supposedly from the center.

Mass sending out of forms to inform the parents that the childcare center was taking precautionary measures to rectify the situation was given out.

I personally handed out the forms and got the parents to sign on the register sheet provided.

Not just this task have I done.

I have done so many things cheerfully and positively that some may find it beneath them to do.

Assisting in diaper change (I can change diapers decently)
Cleaning of tables of food that children have spewed.
Cleaning of floors.
Changing of mattress covers so children can sleep.
Preparing the area for children to sleep.
Bathing kids (once in a while)
Changing children out of their wet clothes when they have passed urine while in their sleep.
Assisting in lessons for children circle time.
Hosting lessons for children circle time.
Reading to children during circle time.
Taking temperatures of children and checking for ulcers when they first arrive at the center.
Recording down what/when the children arrive at the center and take their snacks.
Putting down toys for the kids to play.
Sterilizing equipment that the kids have contaminated due to hand foot mouth disease.
Cleansing their mouth of foul infections contracted due to hand foot mouth disease.
Reprimanding children when they have done wrong.
Taking sometimes up to three kids at a time out for walks.
Serving children food and drinks.
Enduring having every mistake done be circulated around the school by one bored and dissatisfied senior teacher who has nothing better to do except complain.

There is more to this list than I have written.

What did I get in return.

I wanted job satisfaction, appreciation and acknowledgment for my work.

All I get is negative feedback.

Finally the principal launched an ultimatum and stated that if the senior teachers had any grievances towards me they could tell me now.

Where upon they just harped on about how slow I was and that when I change mattress covers I sit down and take too long than they move into insults like if they hired an 11 year old to do my job the 11 year old would do it better than me and on and on and on.

I said that regarding the mattress cover (which is a job that was assigned to me the first time that same first time in my entire life doing this task they gave me). I would do this task again and I would do it even more efficiently.

Finally they left in frustration.

The principal told me to write down all the things I have to do and memorize them and remember and she also questioned me on how I studied to earn my diploma as if I was mentally challenged.

Yes, I am mentally challenged to ever have such a naive idea that by working hard people would recognize your efforts instead of throwing insults at you and screaming at you.

I contracted bronchitis eventually after a bout of fever after I left the school on Friday (15/1/10)

I am still on MC as I am working how to resign and terminate my diploma course that is to commence next week.

The thought of having to go back to that place and face all that again for 1 year and be bonded for another year.

The thought that woman may receive any credit for any success I may attain in the future if I had completed my course while under her center sickens me.

My mom phoned the principal yesterday and my principal dared to even question how my mom raised me. She called me an angel said I had a good character but was slow in work performance. She also said that I was safe working at the center because I was too gentle and nice to withstand working else where. wtf???

I was lying on the sofa listening to the conversation and I was burning up with feverish anger I shouted I want to resign!

My mom passed my message to the principal who was stunned.

My mom also spoke with a senior teacher who said that I was a good person but slow. My mom asked slow in what sense. The senior teacher said slow in the sense that I take longer to pick up things that until now don't know how to carry children...

This same woman asked me to carry an infant for her because she was having a hard time with him. I carried him and promptly tried to comfort him.

If it as she said that I am unable to carry children why on earth would you give me this responsibility to carry the child?

A new child at the childcare too.

The principal sporadically yells at me and scolds me about safety for the children. Threatening me that if I do not carry the child properly, hold the child's hand properly she would be angry and furious, drag my probation for longer, have me sued in court for causing a child to be hurt...

yes I know it sounds drama but that is precisely what she yells at me.

I have beared with it.

she questions my upbringing (if my mom did a good job or not? How dare she?) when her own office has a nest of cockroaches I went to help clean the air con filter and there was a pile of cockroach shit behind the cupboard one of the roaches upon being uncovered among the shit quickly crawled away to be hidden beneath a neighboring cupboard. Gross to the max.

She questions my mental capacity by asking me why I am so forgetful and keeps on bringing in the security and safety issue of child carrying and even told my mom that I would be safe with her and that she would put me to do administration tasks??? Does this even sound logical to you?

When she mentioned that I am to do admin duties to the senior teacher the senior teacher announced that if I was to be involved in administration duties she would have nothing to do with it that was her ultimatum to the principal. And if my ultimate goal is to teach in a preschool how will doing administration work and being cooped in an office all day help me when I don't interact with the kids? Didn't I mention there is a cockroach infestation in the office?

I know that the principal has made mistakes due to her forgetfulness. How dare she question me and treat me with such condescension? What are her mistakes? Since I arrived a month ago there were complaints that the kids could not eat noodles and required more feeding than usual. Until now the menu still have not changed.

There was an order of books that the principal arranged the wrong order came in. There was a confrontation to see who would shift blame.

I do not know the outcome but being around the principal and the senior teachers during discussion is like being around a crisis zone.

The kids alone made this life bearable.

Now they are sick from 22 children there were 13 kids and the numbers went down and one by one they succumbed to fever and other hand foot mouth disease symptoms.

I am so angry! Why should I bear the brunt of your anger at your own incompetence?

My principal even told my mom that as a child I must have always been a follower not a leader.

My dear principal I have this to say to you: As a child you must have gained nothing from past experiences to make you the kind of classless person you are today. Yelling and screaming at staff threatening to sue them? Treating them with such condescension? We are both human too if I cut a hole in your arm you mean to say you will bleed diamonds?

I have sacrificed so much of my time and energy working at that place. My pride I did away bearing insults on my intelligence and breaking down my self esteem to make a senior person feel more powerful. How old are you to resort to such childish tactics?

Until now I still get this kind of sickening negative feedback. Fine! I resign. I don't even want to serve my probation. I am safer climbing mount everest with a bronchitis than working in a mad house like that. I did rather die of pneumonia than go back there again.

I have not blogged real long but its not because I have fallen off the face of this Earth or anything.

Work has been great. My colleagues are good and helpful but I have yet to form any really Earth shattering bonds with them yet. It has been all good.

Surprisingly I think I have held up really well at this job considering that chasing after kids all day can be really draining but I enjoy it.

Playing with the kids and making them smile makes it worth it.

Of course there are bad moments too.

When they don't listen and have to scold them jia lat jia lat than they will do what they are told.

I will be working until the 25 of January than I will be starting my lessons soon.

I cannot wait I can sense a change.

Sometime back when I told my mom I had decided on becoming a teacher she asked me if I had regrets on joining Republic Polytechnic and taking up art and technology course there.

I said no. Absolutely not.

Art has always been something really important to me because it gave me a feeling of identity.

People have the misconception that art has to be perfect and has to look like what Mona Lisa look like or Rembrandt but the thing is not everyone can paint like these great artists. Even if they spent their whole life trying to do so even they succeeded their work would not be representative of who their are as artists they would be viewed as imitators of past artists who have long since died. It does not define who they are as artists.

Tim Burton is an artist, Tom Ford is an artist, the late Daul Kim was an artist.

Art just refuses to be placed inside a cubic box and labeled as art because it is just so broad it seeps into everything in life.

When I was younger I always felt that art has to be perfect, my life had to be perfect. Perfect grades, perfect looks, perfect friends...

On every count I failed (in my opinion as a kid anyway) someone else always made nicer clay models than me, someone else always drew better, played piano better, got better grades, had more friends...

My primary school years were spent apart from doing random nonsense like keeping pet spiders and snails and starting a ghost busting club. My secondary school years living out some teen drama-esque sort of life think two girls falling for one guy and the ups and downs of teen life, who is most popular, prettier, who got into cheer leading squad and all that shit. One prime reason why I hate secondary school culture and all that fake shit that drags into adult hood eventually. But apart from that I avoided getting sucked into that and made some seriously good friends who I am thankful for meeting during my life span on planet Earth.

All through these years it was one big competition. Competing to get into a popular crowd, competing to win everything, competing for the sake of freaking competing.

In ITE I was prepared to compete again. But the environment there was different it was like an oasis because I had friends there who were really great and we studied and we watched movies together on this big sofa in the library and it was a really peaceful period for me anyway. But well, it was time to move on before long and I hassled and moved on.

First year of poly life I was also competing and feeling terribly stressed.

Somewhere along the line I quit. I had enough. I simply did not care anymore. The exact date it happened? sorry I don't know.

I decided to just focus on doing my best and that's it.

At Republic Polytechnic I basically relearned how to look at things from a different perspective.

It was like opening my mind up on so many levels and finding the power in me and performing to the best of my abilities. No more competing with other people. It was about progression and cultivating myself and my abilities and learning from everyone and everything. Gaining inspiration from everything in life and appreciating the little things in life that I had taken for granted.

I still sketch in my sketch book. I sketch what I like and how I want it to be. I learn from others how to use shade and light and how to create illusions with graphite pencils, I do not try to draw perfectly and realistically because that is not within my realm and not the voice of me as an artist, I keep stacks and stacks of creative material for inspiration, I photograph religiously and seriously (think tripod and DSLR camera), I write, I film, I edit, I create endlessly...

I have plans to expand my abilities and interests from the field of baking to sewing my own dresses. I am ambitious but I pursue what I like and what I want. No more fitting into a mold that is perfect. I am me why do I have to be perfect anyway?

Do I regret going to RP and taking art courses? No absolutely not.

obsession with prada wallet

Everytime I see one of my friends pull out her wallet I always think, she has arrived and fully become this career woman. Her wallet is really nice exactly what suits my aesthetic since I like rectangular wallets which are kind of long and have zips.

You cannot blame me I always had a thing about wallets. To me they are what hair cuts are like to woman they are like one of those symbols of change. It shows that you have spending power and you can afford to pay for your own things, your own time, your own life.

I have been holding on to my ancient but indestructible Mambo wallet for the longest time (had it since secondary school BEAT THAT). All my other wallets have suffered slow deaths and I have condemned them to the wallet drawer.

I have just taken my first step on embarking on a solid career path. My past couple of months have been like one foot in one foot out experience trying out by way of going for interviews than rejecting the job offer because I did not really feel comfortable with the company direction, distance, job (trust me not all job duties are put out there on the website sometimes you get more idea of your job scope by talking to the employer than just surfing the site) etc.

So now I actually do like the company and I do like the job and I am really really really really happy with the environment and the perks and everything considering I still get to study while working and be paid so that's really cool :)))))

I just have to sit still and go for the ride and just learn to be better at my job and gain experience and of course the KA CHING!.

Hahahahahahahahaha.

Okay I already said that wallets are like that symbol of career woman right? so apart from my hair which I really need to get it cut and re-dyed I also need to change my wallet and I saw this this this *points below*

I KNOW its PRADAAAA but I think it costs like 200 to 300 bucks which is okay to me for a luxury item. I see it as collecting something from a designer who I admire immensely because she is willing to work with things she does not like. Here are some interviews I dug up.

Oh well, it is rather expensive for a wallet I may hunt for a more accessible alternative but it must be indestructible literally. I demand that from my wallets and shoes and bags and I am willing to pay a wee bit more to ensure this. I cannot stand it when all these items spoil too easily. So far, I am having good bag days where all my bags go through rain, strain (I put my whole house in the bag), abuse (I am not the most careful bag owner) and still the bags look like new :)

My worse bag experience was when I was carrying the bag and suddenly the bag was on the floor. The strap of the bag had broken and the entire bag dropped to the floor.

Horror. In a public place some more.

I had phobia of that bag ever since and I have banished it as well to the bag box.

So I have a wallet drawer and a bag box.

I digress back to my fixation on prada wallets and luxury items.

I never used to care much about all these fluff since it was not something that my life was directly involved in. But SHE and SHE introduced the concept of wearable luxury to me.

Everyday women who indulge in high end products within their means financially (I think).

I liked reading the entries and I liked reading about the fashion. I read up a bit of fashion on my free time but I am not obsessed by it I am really picky and bored easily with fashion trends and careful with what I will consider placing next to my skin. It was a transformation process who I am and what I would wear in the past is different from who I am now.

We are two different people. She in the past has died in order for the me in the present to survive and live on.

In part luxury being immediately in my reach, being everywhere I turn and being something I could breath about and gravitate towards on a daily basis hour after hour like propaganda really hit me when I started working at ION Orchard.

The 2nd level became my domain if you know the place fairly well you would know that this was where the top end products are placed. Look to Harry Winston for your landmark my dears.

I was always stationed there if not I would be in the call center which does not concern this post so I will not talk about it.

Seeing red carpets adorn the floors for VIP to come in, making friends with the body guards outside Cartier and Harry Winston. Saying hi in private to my dear white diamond necklace that decorated Harry Winston's display window.

Knowing the ladies who owned the boutiques that housed these thousands of dollars in gem stones by sight. They came in wearing simple but elegant outfits and rode limousine service to work everyday.

I was stationed at the Harry Winston golden signage very often because it was at the entrance to the second floor and thus I would have to greet everyone who came in as part of my job if not I would have to patrol the area and assist everyone who needed assistance.

In between moments you can reflect and observe the state of luxury that is available in the stores.

You want to partake and gobble it up whole. You can see the class difference between heartlanders and rich tai tais. It is such a distinction that you can almost reach out and touch it.

I have been blessed to view a glimpse into the lives of people who are truly privileged and be there to assist them. Not that I would decide not to assist those who are less well off because to me customer service should not have any distinction as long as the customer is human and the customer is within the premises you should be prepared to serve the customer.

It has given me a innate desire to possess luxurious items on my own terms of course not as a gift to procure favors of such which I have no interest in. I began to appreciate luxury, feel its difference and want it to be part of my life in minute ways. It is like bringing a piece of my life while working near luxury items into my everyday life. So I will start off with that prada wallet it is something I would like to use while I am still alive on this Earth when I die I don't care who uses it :)

I have not blogged for so long.

Anyway I have been mad busy going for interviews, declining job opportunities and basically being really fussy over the job that I intend to take on for LIFE.

I know the way I am right now could rise up a fair bit of criticism from folks just not to my face. But I don't care I mean it's my life I am driving the course of why should I take into consideration what other people think?

I mean there are diploma graduates out there cleaning tables for a living, doing something completely different from what they studied, furthering their studies in something unrelated to their diploma, traveling to see the world, serving the country (NS dudes), doing something related to their diploma and hating it or loving it, variables are endless...

Anyway enough about what other people are doing and what they think about what I am doing and what they think I should be doing and what I think they should think and they should not think that I should be doing and all that crap.

I think when you sit on a the sofa and think about your life like seriously think. Not while reading a magazine and being distracted about the muscles on a Calvin Klein male model in an advertisement you began to see yourself in the future, where are you going to be, what you want to become.

At 21 in my opinion I am pretty much nothing. That is not to say I have low self esteem but in the totem pole that makes up people with careers I am nothing.

A clean slate.

I think of my working life like those bottles filled with sand, if you fill it with various types of sand you will gradually see layers some thicker than others and some thinner than others.

This symbolize years, the thicker layers of sand symbolize a longer period I stayed in a job and the thinner layers of sand symbolize a shorter period of time stayed in a job.

If I changed my career path entirely for example from being a sushi chef to wedding planner the color of the sand would change as well to symbolize the transition from one career to another.

I do not want to keep changing my career path and start fresh I want to plant myself and grow in the job. Its as simple as that once I find that job I will stay on and keep working forever.

Career what path?

Being young and ambitious is a real pain.

You want to do everything at once, travel to a country you have never been to, get on a career path of writer, designer, marketing executive, clothes house, model, married...

list goes on and on in no significant order.

But one wrong move and you are screwed.

Its fairly simple choosing a career path first you choose, you stay on for 1 to 3 years. The longer you stay put in the job the more experience and thus have higher prospects.

My research tells me that you have to have at least 5 years job experience before becoming a manager in let's say the sales sector. If you want to become a director you have to have like 10 years of experience in that industry.

So its all about planting yourself in a chosen industry and than growing from there.

Being ambitious and all I would love to be a director.

But I am not sure director of what and if I want to become one I have to plant myself and grow for 10 years in an industry.

Which industry? I am not even sure. I chose art and design but I am not sure if I have what it takes to reach directorial level. I am on this path I cannot go back because obviously once you plant yourself with intentions to reach 10 years of industrial experience how are you going to get out?

Ambitious people stay on and fight it out.

I am ambitious but ambitious to become what?

Maybe I should just try and be everything. Do all the jobs I have in mind than pick the one I feel works best for me. That sounds like a silly plan.

By the way I watched Time Traveller's Wife and seriously, read the book people don't waste your time on fluff like that. Next to the book the movie looks like a picture of homer compared to a Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci. No offense to Homer I will always love you.

Today I went for my first ever interview for a design job.

*Marks a Milestone mentally*

It was actually quite fun and it did not really feel like some serious interview I just went through my works and talked about it. Thanks RP for making it so easy for me to just present stuff!

Than one of my interviewers was like saying I was tall and whether I got boyfriend or not and I was like: No unfortunately. ( I mean I don't really feel unfortunate or anything because I have been approached before to be a few somebody's gf but I did not accept because I didn't feel anything *ouch* or I did not sense his sincerity or I had someone else I ~~loved~~ liked at that time)

But if I were to reply to the interviewer's question on having a bf with: No fortunately. I would be asked to explain and I was not really in the mood to explain so yea I just said: "I don't have a bf unfortunately"

and the interviewer said: "Don't worry you are still young."

and I said: "It's okay its (dating) not really my priority at the moment."

and that was true.

I don't know why people always ask me regardless of gender whether I have a boyfriend or not. why? Is it because I am 21 that's why? Is it because I wear make up? Is like my answer to that question could bring enlightenment or insight into my soul or something.

I think when next time someone asks I will just say: yea I am not attached you interested in me arh?

This will depend on the situation of course.

Anyway moving on I have been experiencing itchy throat, itchy nose, itchy mouth and I have been blaming it on the neighbor who smokes next door until today I upon sensing the breaking of dawn my eyes opened and I heard my neighbor come out. Is it smoke I smell? I asked myself while sniffing the air suspiciously.

No. Miraculously no. I deduced that my neighbor was not to blame and I had been falsely accusing him in my mind. After forming this deduction I commenced the next important step which was to go back to sleep.

When I woke up I commenced preparing self for interview.

After interview I proceeded to feed myself than I went on to hunt the cause of my itchy nose, mouth and throat. I investigated the contents in my room and found nothing out of place. Than I saw my no. 1 clue.

The room fan.

Yes that innocuous looking fan. Sitting there on the floor swinging back and forth to lull me to sleep every single night.

That poor fan was covered in thick dust.

It had been blowing dust into the air every single night.

No wonder I suffered from itchy throat, mouth and nose.

Now I have solved the problem by cleaning it and I feel much more at peace.

I shall now commence to get on with life.

I collect dresses sometimes just for the print and I find it hard to turn down a flyer distributor when they distribute flyers with beautiful typography and illustrations on them. I keep inspiration boxes, folders, both on my computer and on my shelves. I admire beautifully crafted perfume bottles in colored glasses and toped with golden stoppers. I love reading books with lovely covers I stop my reading just to admire them. I think the camera for me is like an extension of my eye balls capturing everything in sight. I can take 265 pictures on my Samsung NV 9 in a day. I like to listen to my movies in original language even if I cannot understand a word. I admire the mise en scene of cinematic pictures because it makes me feel cultured. I like ordering cock tails with funny names. I love cinnamon and spices in pasta and tasting an explosion of tastes erupting on my tongue. The same can be said of what I like about viewing art and life, an explosion of sound, smell, sight, color erupting before me.

Yesterday I went to Jean Yip with mom to do my hair and yup red is back.

The dude who did my mom's hair incidentally called Kenneth. Quite tall and lanky with spiked up hair he started telling my mom random nonsense:

I broke up with my gf because her dad was alcoholic and beat me up. He thinks I am a flirt.

Your daughter (referring to me who was sitting next to mom reading a book) don't talk to me because she thinks I am an Ah beng but most girls find me very lovable.

I have to send money back to Malaysia. *proceeds to show pictures of the Malaysian car he owns it is a rip off from Jay Chou's car in Initial D*

I have this prejudice that any guy no matter who even if for some inconceivable reason like for example Johnny Depp decides to go do up his car to look like that. I would confirm think he is an Ah Beng particularly the sought of Ah Beng who likes to go street racing revving engine really loud to show OFF.

HATE HATE this kind of tragic behavior.

Even if the dude who owns the said car or any sought of poser car ( my classmate Tosh taught us about this term used on any car that has been modified to look like a race car) does not do the said irritating behavior I would still think he did. Simply because he owns a poser car.

Yishun has alot of all these sought of peoples and cars. Revving engine super loud just to piss people off.

Its not F1 for crying out loud.

The hairdresser Kenneth maybe wanted to show off by showing pictures of his Initial D car look a like whatever the reason I was not impressed.

So what if he really really saved money for his ex gf to go Italy. He say all these things for what? He is suppose to do my mom's hair nice nice and just leave me to read. Even my guy hairdresser doing mine hair dye also never say so much nonsense he just did his job and ask me to continue reading lol.

My mom related everything Kenneth the hair dresser said and some of the conversation I heard with my own two ears. I know a good rapport with your hair dresser is good but saying ridiculous things just is ridiculous lol.

I have been planning a shit load of things in my diary.

I have tried to complete everything in a week but it is pretty much impossible unless I cut myself off from the outside world and live like a hermit.

GAH.

1) Pack my WHOLE bedroom. (Easy to type out but drives me crazy to figure it out)
2) Start designing again if can profit from it do so.
3) Finish my book before date due
4) Fix my spectacles
5) Fix my sunglasses
6) Fix my MP3 player at CREATIVE Resource
7) Use my $10 Vouchers before expiry (is there an expiry date? I don't know its not written)
8) Find a "normal" job.
9) Get my portfolio updated and resume updated. (This is a very short sentence to conjure up but pertains to a whole load of planning and energy)

I called my workplace tonight and got the wonderful news that now there will be a monthly schedule so I do not have to keep waiting every Sunday to know what the following week's schedule will be.

In addition I have now got Saturday and Sunday off this week.

I was visiting Jane's seaofshoes blog and stumbled upon Tamasaburo the Kabuki actor who has been acting since he was 20 years old he is around 59 years old now but he can ACT.

And it is impossible to tell that it is a man who is in his fifties acting roles from country maidens to oirans (high class courtesans) !

OMG I have been mad busy.

I have worked for like officially two weeks. It should be three but one of the weeks I was sick so I took MC for 5 days.

Anyways I want to use this blog post to keep track of certain things like finances.

Things I MUST buy:

1) Latest model of WACOM (Large)= $799
2) Mac book (In black. I insist unless there is some pink alternative) = $2588
3) Canon 450D = $1199

Total = $4586

Total number of months required to work before I can afford the above = about 3 months

Okay now I have set my goal I am going to work until I reach it. No matter what it takes.

Ohhh and if you have studied art and technology you would know why I need all the above. Its a illustrator/ graphic designer's dream combo. I think I will throw in a tripod into the mix as well and a combo of softwares like photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, macromedia flash (just to name a few)

I have not given up my dream to become a graphic designer I am just using a different means to meet an end :)

A big thank you to everyone who took part in my b'day and giving wishes and lots of loves and hugs!

Here is a big thank you and a selection of pictures. Everything is already up on Facebook so what I will try and do here is just give commentary and thanks :)

I am off tomorrow. I was like off the usual work hours because I was sick so I took MC but there was briefing and training and needed to go and measure my feet size for the ION officer shoes we had to wear.

So I still had to go out on three separate days which were my MC days.

Naturally it took very long for me to like heal completely and the doctor gave me one extra day of MC so now I have like 4 day MC.

When Saturday rolled by I was getting ready to go to work when WHAM! There was mad banging on the door lah than I was thinking it is some Yakult person so I went off to bath and do some washing.

After that I got out and started to get dressed and still the banging continued lah so I went to check the window and I saw Sandra outside!

Shocked I opened the door and was hit by a camera lens. I was still wearing my geeky spectacles and feeling super shocked so I quickly closed the door and went back inside to fix my contact lens before opening the door for everybody!

Goodness! Its an invasion man!

They brought along cake and lots of other yummalicious laughter and eventually I just could not bring myself to go to work.

Besides I was still not completely recovered from my sickness.

So I begged off work and stayed with my poly peeps for one day.

It was really fun and I was touched that they came all the way from Red Hill and Tiong area just to come find my house which I have never brought them to and show up at my door step!

I have been sick and still I have to go to training and learn invaluable stuff that will definitely help me in the future for my job.

Its not going to be easy to become a pro at the job I do but at least there is some guidance provided and for that I am as grateful as it is humanly possible for me to be.

Everybody is really nice and helpful and I hope to continue getting along with them.

Am mad tired from the pills I ate but I thought a quick update was called for and decided to go ahead and blog.

I can't wait for time to pass by faster for me to finish my training and get going and move faster to the future. Its a desire in me that is so strong sometimes I can barely standstill but have to pace and act out and think. I cannot be still not for one second. It's maddening.

I finally got a job!

Today went down to sign some documents there after was advised to go for a medical check up.

So I went.

And I came back with a giant x ray of my lungs.

The color of the robe I had to wear for the xray and the color of my eye shadow matched.

That sounded seriously bimbotic. Sorry.

Anyway it was a very interesting check up.

That's all I shall say about it.

I will start training next week and than I will officially be like a full time working person.

On a side note today I discovered that Tweezerman Tweezers cost like $29.90. Its like those tweezers you can use to trim your eye brows.

I heard Tweezerman are the best but I don't understand how it can cost so much. Sheesh. I got into quite a minor tiff with the cashier who rang up the sale because the total bill of 6 items went up to $68.47 !!!

I mean its the GSS for crying out loud who spends almost $70 on random nonsense at Watsons?

Retail Therapy is not suppose to bankrupt people.

Anyway I asked her to remove the Tweezerman Tweezers from my order as well as Koji Spring Heart Eyeliner which she mistaken for Silky Girl Eye liner. I had to correct her repeatedly and she took extremely long just to correct the order I made so much so that one other customer who bought some facial foam had to request for a speedy transaction as she was in a hurry.

Admittedly I was in the wrong for not wanting to pay $68.47 on random stuff that I could live without but I already said Retail Therapy. Some people indulge in chocolate mousse or drinking champagne or having sex with strangers. Its their way of indulging themselves or destressing themselves.

What makes Retail Therapy wrong?

So anyway I do not have to justify my purchases just that I needed them at the time when I saw them in the store and felt justified to purchase the items.

What ticked me off so much is that the woman behind the counter did not seem to feel or react in any way to my responses but just took her time.

She did not apologize for making me wait she just wandered from one counter to the other checking God knows what.

I might as well have been a statue she had been forced to serve. That was how she made me feel.

I don't understand how established institutions who I assume value customer service can hire someone like that. All I asked for is to check my purchases and understand how it could amount to $68.47 once I understand this I wanted to remove two items from the purchase list. It's that simple.

Here is my receipt so you can see for yourself that what I said above was for real. The Tweezerman tweezers really cost that much and also my total bill really reached that amount but I trimmed down the price.

I just hope that in the future the lady who served me would improve her customer service abilities and there will not be another disgruntled customer after me.

And its not that I am great at customer service or anything but I believe that one should always project the better self for the world to see. If you feel like crap be like Avril Lavigne on a good day. If you feel on top of the world be like Winnie The Pooh drenched in honey.

You get my point project a better self than how you truly feel. Customers don't want to see your bad attitude they want service its part of the amount that makes up the bill. So make it worth it.

Today has been crazy!

I dressed up in a Victorian blouse and skirt of soft fabrics and a stiff blazer for an interview that did not happen, I borrowed some more books in the night just before the library closed and than I wrote a really long comprehensive email to my job agent.

In between I got random contact with different peoples some went like yay, gah and than like nothing.

Anyway it doesn't matter because I have no control over any of that stuff. What I can control at present I have done so like explain the case and apologize or clarify or whatever. All done.

I have a lot on my plate and I am really really tired of having to worry and fret over conflicts and non-issues.

My current motto is: If you can't do anything about it than don't give a shit.

because worrying causes insomnia and insomnia is bad.

Anyway I digress what interview that was not an interview?

I explain:

I prepared like an hour before the interview like at 4pm and focused primarily on getting ready dressing the part and looking the part and getting all my application forms printed and written and all my certificates ready.

It did not help that I had a trojan horse on my computer in the morning and had to run like 2 hour scan on the thing to remove all viruses. GAHH!

Thank God the baby is up and running again if not I would just keel over and die. I hate viruses on computers it irritates me madly almost as madly as being extremely hungry. Thank God I can cook.

Okay back to the interview that did not happen.

So I GOT READY and made sure that I knew where like Wheelock Place and where Shaw house is because that's on the address and directions given to me by my Job Agent.

Than I got out of the house and that's when shit happened.

Apparently Shaw House has like two different lift lobbies that would bring you to two different office areas. One is called Shaw Center and the other is called Shaw House.

But Shaw House lift lobby is like not inside the shopping area itself its like part of the building but you have to enter from outside. I did not know this and spent a significant amount of time trying to find the right place I went to Shaw Center and took the lift to the 19th floor and I found out where MOS burgers offices are so if you happen to want to know I can guide you there but nope it was not the place I was suppose to go.

So than I had to take the lift down again and I began to feel like the first stabs of panic and decided since I was pretty much hopeless finding the place on my own let me try an information desk. At this point I was walking around level one of Shaw House shopping area which is actually Isetan Perfume section looking for a bloody Information Counter.

It was hopeless so I checked my handphone to see the time and guess what I was like 20 mins late already. I also had like 2 missed calls one from my Job Agent and the other unknown.

I dialed the Job Agent the line was busy so I dialed the other number. Apparently its the employer and she was not happy.

I explained to her and apologized alot after trying to guide me a little she directed that task to another person and so I had to find a place where I could write down the number she was about to give to me. This was quite humorous actually because here I am in the cosmetic and perfume level looking for a table to write on a phone number.

I can see the funny side now but at that time I was like all business if you were to cross me at that time while I was looking for a flat surface to write that number on you would be seriously asking for trouble. I might stab you with my pilot pen.

Anyways that feat was accomplished and I dialed the number the employer gave me.

Now that is where the second phase of my experience occured.

I was told to get outside the building. So I got out of the building.

Than I was told to look for TCC cafe and thing is this cafe is not in Shaw House but next to Shaw House. I was beginning to think that the offices where I needed to get to was not actually in Shaw House itself but outside like in another building. The company I am going for interview for owns a couple of buildings.

But I was wrong on this note because I ended walking up and down the street between Shaw House and TCC cafe which is actually located at International Shopping Centre (something like that its right next to Shaw House).

Anyway to cut a long story short. I saw that elusive lift lobby with the heading Shaw House emblazoned above the enterance. I was so happy I could have wept.

I had apparently bypassed the enterance all together since I am notorious for walking fast. God did not give me these long legs for me to walk slowww. of course this habit of walking fast killed me in this instance.

I was super late. Nobody possibly in the history of the Universe who applied for a job with this huge company could possibly be as late as me. It was mortifying to walk through the glass doors and be me. The horribly late missplaced interviewee.

GAHHH!

But it was an adventure and I got scheduled another time for an interview on Monday. This time I will not be late even if it kills me and after that I am treating myself to something nice. I think I deserve it afterall going through with all this most people would not have the guts to go through with the interview even if given a second chance granting the circumstances being more than 20 minutes late and all.

This whole experience taught me that I am much braver than I think I am and I need to ask for a number from the job agent or whoever hooks me up with the job. Not being able to contact the employer while being lost and late is pretty terrible experience and I am just filing it away in my mental file of terrible experiences that I have to learn from and NOT repeat.

These couple of days has been unbelievable on so many levels. I am mentally and physically exhausted but I have the mental capacity for a staggering amount of shit so if God showed me the future and said: "yes you may have to go through with this again." I would say bring it on!

I don't know how I became like this I dislike conflict but yet it strengthens me and as I go through with it time and time again. I run from it, it catches me, drags me in and sends electric currents up and down my mind. Its torture but yet in a strange way I have come to be very much acquainted with it and you could even say its like one my old cranky friends along with morbid, paranoia and disillusionment.

I mean for me I have a morbid side and sometimes but very rarely I get paranoid and other times I quite believe myself to be disillusioned but than I can be very realistic and go: "You can't eat passion nor can you eat happiness. Sometimes you have to renounce your dreams (perhaps you always wanted to be a painter?) do what you do not love just so you can feed yourself and your loved ones."

Thats the realist.

You cannot eat passion neither can you eat happiness.

But sometimes I say chuck that and seize the day and live passionately, at times recklessly even but never regretting anything that you do. Not many people can live like this. I am irrevocably drawn to one who lives with passion but is not necessarily reckless. I am drawn to this one person he draws me to him and I have tried to run away the way I did with conflict but there is something about him even when I do not see him for years I still think of him.

Yesterday I went for an appointment with a job agent together with my friend and her bf.

Haha I had no idea her bf would be going along too lol.

Anyways the meet up with the job agent took quite a long time and after we had the spoken interview out of the way and clear idea of what jobs we would be interested in and our qualifications and our various experiences out of the way.

We went on to try for a test for a Bank Call centre job.

I was very nervous in the test because it had maths questions and I was not very sure if a Bank related job was for me considering I was not a numbers gal.

The pay was good and there was training provided and there was flexible hours as well all which suit me because I am quite used to having odd working hours.

So that was the pros the cons would the maths part anyways I do not think I will be getting that job.

The other jobs which I was rather interested in would be a customer service personnel job with two major shopping centers. The job scope seemed rather interesting and I would love to try for it the pay was although lesser than the bank but I think I would be more suited for the job. In addition the location and the job nature would place me closest to one thing I love. Shops. Clothes. A lot of clothes.

Incidentally a larger refrigerator would excite me more than a large wardrobe.

Remember that Heineken commercial? I would totally act impressed with the large wardrobe but than sneak off to join the dudes and ohhh and ahhh over the huge fridge.

I mean its more practical isn't it?

A large fridge means more food.

A large fridge can be used to store creams and such to prevent them from becoming a lumpy mess.

A large fridge becomes a make shift bomb shelter once you have ventilation holes and regulate the temperature so as not to freeze to death.

A large fridge well is cold. And cold in hot weather is like water to a man about to die of thirst.

Last night I was woken up and felt very shivering and cold and kept sneezing repeatedly I adjusted my fan to point another direction than returned to bed and this time I did not wake up again.

When I did it was obscenely early (for me) and the phone rang. I deliberated on hiding under the covers for longer or being responsible and picking up the phone. My instincts told me the phone call was a business call.

Instincts was right.

A interview is to be scheduled today.

I will be ready and going. Wish me luck.

After that at night I will be going to hang with my poly peeps and chill out.

Who knows by the time tomorrow rows over I will hold a full time job? You never know. Anyway I have a tonne of things to buy, plan and do.

Life is getting more and more exciting.

And the weather is getting hotter too. GAH.

oh oh oh I have loads of pics and vids from Joel's b'day party but I have no time to go edit them and put them up! Boo. Shall just have to wait than.

Incidentally I realize I have a big mouth. Boo.

Today has been ultra productive despite my current monthly condition. But they don't call wonderwoman wonderWOMAN for nothing. I am very proud to be a woman.

When I was younger I wanted to be a guy because the guys always split themselves up in games during PE faster than the gals thus resulting in less time to play and have fun. So I wanted to be a guy. I became the first girl in the whole class who wanted to be a guy.

Now on the other hand I am supremely proud to be a woman. I admire strong willed women and hard muscles on men.

Okay that aside now let me tell what I have done:

I have wrestled with a tonne of washing and managed to wash EVERYTHING and hang EVERYTHING up to dry. That includes my knitted pink blanket which weighs ALOT when its wet.

I managed to complete a section of my online portfolio. Does not sound like ALOT but let me tell one section involves multiple buttons to ensure proper navigation between pages, creating more than 10 thumbnails, typing appropriately descriptive text to explain my work and locating of various images in various folders in my computer and 320 GB external hard drive to create thumbnails with. *phew*

That is just one freaking section. I am not done yet!!!

I shall not bore you with the details just SEE the finished product when I am done :)

Anyways if I am going to work why do I need a portfolio ONLINE???

I have decided long ago I MUST have one. Once I have decided I am like a bull you must wrestle to get your way with most likely I would throw you off because I am a bull. You don't mess around with bulls.

Apart from this I have hand crafted five separate cover letters and emailed them to various potential employers today, replied emails and a phone call from some potential employers who replied to my letters and also replied an email to a potential buyer who checked out my stuff on the blogshop which I run and advertise for daily.

I have returned a book and also renewed a book today at the library.

And I have also eaten fried food at Long John Silver.

Tomorrow I am going to check out a job agency with Lisa and after that I will be heading down to a friend's birthday party to be chief photographer. Which entails a whole load of things like finding the best positions to take photos and also editing and circulating the photographs for various peoples who were at the party.

I am busy busy busy!

Life's journey - a realist and a dreamer

WARNING emo and serious post

I am going to be 21 this year and I have gone through an unbelievable amount of shit in life.

I don't complain about it now but I feel that I have grown more cynical and less trusting of people.

I keep more things to myself and tell people about myself less and less even when I do talk a lot its normally nonsensical and it suits its purpose. I tell them everything but nothing.

How did I become like this?

Thank life for that.

Anyway how I feel personally about my life now its not important. My conscience is clear I say the truth and I am genuine about what I really think about others. If I am asked I will tell you exactly what I think. If you don't trust me and don't believe me but trust what others say about me instead of judging me for yourself and how you find me personally than I can only say you are too afraid and distrustful of YOURSELF to make any opinion of YOUR OWN. YOU see the world through OTHER PEOPLE'S EYES. NOT your OWN.

I digress.

If we are not talking about ourselves and who we are than lets just have fun and be frivolous and not care about worldly issues. Who cares we live once. Why can't life be a party? an endless party?

When we depart we go back to reality and be realists. There is pile of work in the inbox to complete.

Right now my path in life is like this I am going to University Next year because my NTU application has not been successful and it is my decision to follow my passion in Visual communications I will not be taking a Mass Communications course in SIM with RMIT after all.

I will instead find a job and get into visual communications next year. My target will be NAFA and Unisim.

If possible that NAFA is still open for enrollment I will enroll this year and see if I am successful. There is no guarantee.

For any reasons why I have taken this time to decide is because I have always loved graphic communication despite it being a fact that Mass Communications is a safer route and I am quite interested in it. But for me to take Mass Communications and embark on a full time route in mass communications would be like for a man who has a long drink of intoxicating vodka of the best quality but is too afraid to see how far he can go on that vodka so he opts of plain water instead.

I have had a taste of vodka I cannot go back to plain water after that.

To ask me to do so would be tantamount to murdering me and my dreams and transforming me into a full fledged cynic. A disbeliever of dreams a full realist. You kill my pursuit of my dream. Am I a fool perhaps? But not many people have the guts to pursue their dreams. Some kill their dreams thus killing a part of themselves as people in the process others succeed.

I have pursued this route thus far I cannot turn back. I should not turn back. I don't care what everybody thinks I must go through with this. If I fail at least I tried no one can say I did not try.

WARNING Highly Frivolous post you could get stupider after reading this haha

I think I am getting more vain.

The more I master or fail make up application skills the more vain I become.

I have learnt the art of creating long lasting eye color with cheap products which cost wayyy lesser than durable Mac or Bobbi Brown. This is convenient since money is a huge factor at the moment. I hope to be able to entice a job over to myself so as to fill my coffers to the brim.

And I have also learnt what glue to use when sticking long fake lashes to my real ones.

However yesterday something happened which caused me to feel major -_-" and kind of paisei lah.

You see as I become like more vain I also get like more experimental I want to try all kinds of stuff from eye primer to green make up concealer most people (even those who use make up) don't know about these things. But like I said I am experimental and those two things suit my purpose. Like green concealer conceals red blemishes and eye primer is like paint primer you put on walls coz than you eye shadow stays longer on your eye lids.

My methods of having eye shadow stay on my lids has got nothing to do with eye primer since I have not got around to buying it. I will not share the secret here because that was not my objective of blogging today. I want to lament my new found vanity.

There was another thing I wanted to know about fake eye lashes. I wanted to experiment to see if it was necessary to have to clean the part where you stick the glue on every time single time you re-use the fake lashes. Does it like affect how the lashes adhere to your lids?

Apparently it does after my experiment.

Yesterday I carried out like a phase in the experiment and the fake lashes almost came loose in public. I was like walking around with the inner corners of the lashes out.

I did not realize this until a significant time had passed. I felt like laughing at myself but that would have of course been out of the question when you are in public so I made for the nearest toilet and repaired the damage while feeling major paisei-ness but one thing about being me is that I don't lose my head easily I can handle myself in most cases and not caring about what other people think about me is a huge factor into this.

So anyway my lesson learnt is now I clean the part of the fake eye lashes where you stick the glue on every time. So the fake lashes adhere longer to the lids and it also makes the lashes last longer.

I lament that now I have gotten into fake eye lash application which was on my to do list together with some practical stuff like learning Dreamweaver and updating and creating my web portfolio I have got a whole load of other stuff to care about this leads me on to thinking perhaps I am getting too vain for my own good.

*Sighs*

If I was born vain and stupid I would not have to lament this at all but I have some sense so I have to question myself occasionally like now.

Incidentally at church yesterday the pastor was preaching on Revelations and the Endtimes but he moved on to preparing for the End times and he said we must avoid dissipation and drunkeness and anxiety because these will lead to us becoming trapped.

He went on to explain that dissipation means engaging in not necessarily harmful stuffs but basically time consuming things like collecting music and watching excessive youtube videos which are fun but they serve no real purpose as in they are not a must to sustain life or do they enhance your walk with God on the path of spirituality. I suppose my activities of sticking lashes to my lids can be categorized under dissipation as well.

After all having longer lashes does not make one feel any closer to God.
